Strange Fruits
From time immemorial with the conquering of the world anything and anyone is a possible item for trade. Every fruit we eat today is part of this bittersweet history.
Fortunately due to the fragility of some of my favourites like Sapodilla and Pommerak not all fruits can be bought in colder climates. This makes for a wholesome sensory overload when we visit places in the world where these fruit thrive in their natural habitats.
So next time you are in your local market buying an overpriced, green, unseasonal, rock hard, sour pineapple the taste will be bittersweet indeed.
